Synthetic Route
| Low—pressure polyethylene (LLDPE), or high—density polyethylene (HDPE), is formed under the following conditions: temperature 120-150 ° C; pressure below 0.1 – 2 MPa; presence of a catalyst (Ziegler-Natt catalysts, for example, a mixture of TiCl4 and AlR3). Polymerization takes place in suspension by the ion-coordination mechanism. The polyethylene obtained by this method has an average molecular weight of 80,000-300,000, a degree of crystallinity of 75-85%. |
